Mauritian artist Fabien Cango was born in 1940. He is inspired by the outdoor scenes of his native country and depicts the energy and movement inside and out. His subject, never quite still in his paintings, come to life in the resonance of his brush strokes. He plays with matter, dissolves it, then releases it. The result is a painting with multiple vibrations. Its subtle colors and  nuanced material find an echo in our history, our memory, our tradition. The paint on the wood develops a symbolic and figurative vocabulary with its timeless subjects and by working from the inside, endlessly digging into its intimacy.
