JOCELYN THOMASSE

ocelyn Thomasse, born in 1950, has been drawing and painting for over 50 years. He enters Serge Constantin’s studio in 1965 to discover the fundamentals that will define the course of his life. Today, his art is grounded in what he perceives as being essential and spontaneous, drawing inspiration from Rickard Diebenkorn, Robert Motherwell and other abstract expressionists. For Jocelyn who explains that “we first learn to draw” composition becomes primordial in a painting as it is the line that defines and dictates equilibrium. His artwork is structured in such a way, which leaves space for varied influences.
